Defensive driving and you.

We are all told that defensive driving prevents accidents and that it saves petrol. Out of personal experience I believe that is just a simple lie. If you want to save gas then drive in the highest gear possible and "sail" down hills by pressing the clutch and letting the car roll. Defensive driving also poses big problems since many of the defensive drivers are overcautious drivers and often not good drivers as they pose as obstacles, might be so focused that they overlook something and pull out right in front of another car causing an accident.

I would say to prevent accidents:

-If your fear overcomes you while driving, you better not be driving.
-Use your blinker, it can be helpful to others.
-Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or strong medication.
-Do not drive while tired (driving slow will only make the situation worse).
-Avoid being slow, you should drive 30 in the 50 zone.
-If you see a queue of cars behind you, it is better to pull over to let them by.
-Do not drive a car you are uncomfortable with or that doesnt let you have overview of the road.
-Do not slow down a kilometer before your exit when you arent on a multilane road.

Follow these and you could prevent accidents, road rage and stress.
